[tab name="en"]Mughal emperor Hunayun's Tomb in New Delhi. This is the first great example of Mughal architecture in India and it acted as inspiration for the architects of Taj Mahal. This tomb looks same from all four sides & hence so does Taj Mahal.

I took this photo from the backside where coincidentally the fountain was working unlike the one at frontside where it was busted. Fountains and small drains for running water were main parts of Mughal architecture as water was not only a part of lifestyle & Mughals were attached to it, running water was also used to cool the palace rooms etc. in summers. Though its another matter that running water & fountains look so peaceful & calm down an anxious mind, something which I think royalty needed on a regular basis. 🙂 [/tab] [tab name="hi"]नई दिल्ली स्थित मुग़ल बादशाह हुमायूँ का मक़बरा। यह भारत में मुग़ल शिल्पकला का पहला उत्कृष्ट नमूना है और बाद में ताज महल के लिए यही प्रेरणा स्रोत था। यह मक़बरा चारो ओर से एक सा ही दिखाई देता है और इसकी नक्ल पर बना ताज महल भी वैसा ही है।

मैंने यह फोटो पिछले हिस्से में लिया था जहाँ इत्तेफ़ाक से फव्वारा चालू था जबकी अग्र भाग का फव्वारा खराब पड़ा था। फव्वारे और पानी के बहाव के लिए बनी छोटी नालियाँ मुग़ल काल की इमारतों के खास अंग थे क्योंकि पानी उन लोगों रहन सहन का एक अभिन्न अंग था, और पानी के बहाव के द्वारा महलों आदि को गर्मियों में ठंडा भी रखा जाता था। साथ ही यह अलग बात है कि बहते पानी को, फव्वारों को देख मन को एक शांति और शीतलता मिलती है, जिसकी कदाचित्‌ शाही परिवार के लोगों को नियमित आवश्यकता होती होगी। 🙂 [/tab]

wow very neat. The fountain droplets also look so clear in this photo. Though I dont know if its my PC’s contrast adjustment problem, but I am finding the photo too gray.

Thanks Snigs. The B&W render in this photo is a bit on darker side but not very dark. You can check your monitor’s colour calibration here. If you can see all shades separately with borders separating each shade, then your monitor is calibrated & photo appears ok on it. 🙂
